Directions

Alexandra Palace, one of London's premier venues, will host the Independent Education Expo. Situated between Muswell Hill and Wood Green, the Palace is served by all forms of public transport and is easy to reach by tube, road, rail and air. Further information is available for visitors with mobility problems.

By Tube

Take the Piccadilly Line (connections at King’s Cross from the Circle Line or mainline trains) to Wood Green Station (Wood Green is 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus). Take the W3 bus service from outside the station to the main Palm Court entrance.

By Rail

Alexandra Palace Station is located close to the Wood Green entrance to Alexandra Park. A regular train service runs from Kings Cross, changing at Finsbury Park. Check the National Rail website for more information.

By Road

If you decide to come by car, Alexandra Palace may be found as follows:

  • Sat Nav - enter the postcode: N22 7AY
  • 1 mile from the North Circular (A406)
  • 5 miles from Junction 2 on the M1 Motorway
  • 8 miles from Junction 25 of the M25
  • From the City/West End – take the A10 west onto the A109, then take the A400 to Archway via Camden Town, then the A1 and follow the signs to Alexandra Palace

There is a free 2000 space car park at Alexandra Palace with designated spaces for those with mobility problems.

By Air

To get to the Palace from main London airports:

  • From Heathrow, take the Piccadilly Line direct to Wood Green Station (70 minutes).
  • From Gatwick, an express takes you direct to Victoria Station, where you change to the underground and take the Victoria Line to Finsbury Park, then take the Piccadilly Line direct to Wood Green Station.
  • From London City, take the DLR to Bank, then change to the underground and take the Northern Line to King’s Cross St Pancras, then change to the Piccadilly Line to Wood Green.

In addition to the Expo, other attractions available at Alexandra Palace include an international sized ice rink and an extensive 196 acre park with a boating lake and lakeside cafe, a 9-hole pitch and putt golf course and a children’s play area, with a separate area for very young children.

Expo News 2011

On one of the hottest late-September weekends since records began the first Independent Education Expo took place in Alexandra Palace. For two days schools, as far and wide from Hampshire, Staffordshire and Scotland met the the hundreds of parents who visited the show.

It’s less than two weeks until the first Independent Education Expo takes place at Alexandra Palace.  We’re looking forward to meeting you and your family (don’t forget there is loads of children’s entertainment with Science Wizards and activities in and around Alexandra Palace).

It's a huge step in any young person's life. Leaving the structure and regimen of school life for the independence of the university environment can to unsettling. As parents, we worry. Will they find good friends and flatmates? Will they eat properly or stay up all night, surviving on a diet of ready meals and will they actually study? In short, can they adapt well to this new stage of their lives? Of course, if we could make it easier for them, we undoubtedly would.
